Point Construction becoming Tampa’s Premiere Custom Home Builder

Family owed and operated, Point Construction has rapidly become one of the premiere custom home builders in the Bay area. When many builders close the door, Point Construction continues to build award winning homes.

Rick and Travis Jennings have been one of the strongest construction tandems in the area. Their $80 per sqft. marketing campaign has been duplicated by every other builder trying to keep up and figure out what Point Construction is doing in order to maintain building homes in the market these days. If you talk with Rick Jennings, the Licensed General Contractor and marketing whiz, he will tell you that it comes down to a deep rooted desire to build a quality home at an affordable price. So many builders are caught up in overhead, models, incentives, etc. when all the future home owner desires is for the builder to create their dream home at the best price.

Travis Jennings, the Operations Manager and field whiz, believes 100% in creating a family-type relationship with clients. “We are going to spend the next several months with a future home owners building their dream home, why wouldn’t they expect to be treated anything less than family. It is an honor for a future home owner to entrust our company with building the home where their family will reside for a long time to come.”

Point Construction has also placed a major emphasis on the Green Construction movement. They teamed up with the University of Central Florida engineering department and Florida Green Building Coalition to take their standard of construction to highest level in Green engineering and certification. Since, Point Construction has formed a partnership with Building America Industrialized Housing Partnership program as well as earned the Energy Star ratings for all new homes this year.

Rick and Travis Jennings understand that you are only as good as your last home. Their desire to remain loyal to the community and provide the highest level of quality and standards drives the company day to day in the face of one of the worst housing downturns in decades. Ask Travis to see a completed home and he will tell you that we can see several completed houses, but let’ss see houses at various stages of construction so that you can experience the detail and supervision we provide at every step of the process. One, it is important for future home owners to understand the process and what to look for when deciding on a home builder and Two to know that we are building houses and we will be always be building houses for years to come.

Point Construction helps customer with EPC Variance

Point Construction helps homeowners in obtaining a variance to Environmental Protection Agency (EPC) Wetland Setback in Hillsborough County. The EPC was created to protect environmentally sensitive areas. The homeowner’s property is 1.46 acres and shaped like a thin rectangle with wetland areas on each side. The EPC goes to these environmentally sensitive areas or wetlands and stakes the boundaries. From those boundaries, they require that any vertical structure must keep at least a 30′ buffer from the staked wetland line. Due to the configuration of the homeowners lot and wetland layout the homeowner was left with very little buildable land for a home. Point Construction stepped in and completed a variance process for the homeowner granting permission to encroach up 7′ on the sides and 5′ to the front of the EPC setback. We received approval on July 03, 2008.

Green Building

The buildings in which we live, work, and play protect us from nature’s extremes, yet they also affect our health and environment in countless ways. As the environmental impact of buildings becomes more apparent, a new field called “green building” is gaining momentum.

Green, or sustainable, building is the practice of creating and using healthier and more resource-efficient models of construction, renovation, operation, maintenance and demolition. Read more about green building or use these links to explore topics: http://www.epa.gov/greenbuilding/index.htm
